'Right to repair' law will save households £75 a year when it kicks in this summer

The 'right to repair' law means firms will legally have to make spare parts available to consumers for the first time. Consumers have been complaining about the quality of white goods for decades. Consumer rights platform Resolver.co.uk has received more than 16,000 complaints about white goods last year, with faulty items featuring prominently. Manufacturers will have to make sure that appliances like washing machines, fridges and other white goods last for up to 10 years. So in plain English, the items shouldn't pack in within these times – and if they do, you have a right to repair.
