According to the police, at least 6,600 drug personalities were slain in anti-narcotics operations from July 1, 2016 to May 31, 2019. The latest report also showed that 193,086 drug personalities were arrested in the last three years. The fresh data was presented just a week after the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution calling for a comprehensive report on the human rights situation in the country, including alleged killings under the government’s anti-drug campaign.
