Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a return to form for the series and a genuinely frightening horror game in its own right. I've already written about what works and what doesn't work in Capcom's latest Resident Evil entry in the first entry in my review-in-progress. Still, overall the gameplay in Resident Evil 7 achieves what it sets out to do. The last couple horror games I've played were the PT demo (also a first-person horror game, though sadly destined for cancellation) and Until Dawn, which I also enjoyed. Resident Evil 7TL/DR: Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is a great new direction for the series that's genuinely scary and is only marginally held back by tedious combat.
