In “Gold” he gets to do both as a glint-eyed, Reno-based prospector named Kenny Wells. In the latter, he wears a suit and tie while imploring Wall Street hedge-fund managers to underwrite an expedition to Indonesia, where Kenny is convinced he’ll find gold in prodigious quantities. “Gold” is structured as a buddy adventure: Kenny’s partner in avarice is a geologist, Mike Acosta, who is played by another formidable actor, Edgar Ramírez.
