A group of researchers and medical professionals are urging fast action to establish a "mask culture" in New Zealand, so Kiwis are ready to adopt "mass masking" in the event of another Covid-19 outbreak. David White/Stuff The New Zealand Medical Journal editorial says masks should be required immediately on inbound international flights, at airport terminals, and at quarantine and isolation facilities. At level 3, masks should also be required at outdoor gatherings and events of more than 10 people, the article said. The main aim of having everyone wear a mask is to prevent people with the disease infecting those around them. The Government should consider supplying free masks to all citizens, if, for exampled, the country returned to alert level 2.
