Rehman advises caution to PML-N, says things may blow out of proportion

LAHORE: Former interior minister Rehman Malik on Saturday said that he favoured the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government completing its tenure, but if things continued the same way and institutions were continued to be attacked, matters might get out of hand. Addressing a press conference, he said that India did not let go of any opportunity to create unrest in Pakistan but still we [state] managed to avert the enemy attack in Peshawar on Friday. Lashing out at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), he said the government had no writ in the country while referring to the recent 22-day long sit-in by a religious party in the federal capital. Commenting on the recent unrest, the PPP senator said things would have been far better had the National Action Plan (NAP) been implemented in its true spirit; however, the time has come to review the NAP and its implementation. Pakistan continues to face threats from its enemies both internal and external, the senator asserted.
