Presid­ent says nation­al narrat­ive essent­ial for fighti­ng terror­ism with unanim­ity of though­tISLAMABAD:President Mamnoon Hussain has called upon the intelligentsia to put their heads together to build a national counterterrorism narrative because the cancer of extremism imperils development and stability. Addressing the annual International Seerat Conference held by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Saturday, the president said the national narrative was essential for fighting terrorism with unanimity of thought. The president said the whole nation was determined to eliminate terrorism from the country, and national unity and cohesion were needed to achieve this goal. He said these were the factors due to which various regions had conflicts and harboured hostility at one or the other level. He said the ministry had given legal cover to the moon sighting committee and introduced uniform timings for prayers in Islamabad.
