Health ministry data released on Sunday showed that children aged between six months and five years old with suspected measles symptoms soared to 6,476. Bangladesh also launched an emergency vaccination campaign targeting more than a million children as the fast‑spreading measles ​outbreak sweeps across the country. Confirmed numbers of measles cases among the demographic stand at 826, with only 16 deaths, with experts saying in many cases, testing is either not done or patients die before testing can be done. Most Bangladeshi children receive a vaccine at nine months, although many infected in the recent outbreak had been six months old, officials added.
