Reduced service on Bloor-Danforth subway line because of fire investigation

The blaze happened at Runnymede Station, stopping eastbound service between Keele and Islington stations, TTC officials say. Service will not return to normal on the Bloor-Danforth subway line until Friday morning after a fire investigation shut down three west-end stations disrupting thousands of commuters Thursday afternoon. Powell said the flames seemed to have started at more than one point and that a subway train was reported as having caught fire. (Susan Reid/CBC)While crews were resolving that, there was a smoking communications wire at Runnymede Station. A shuttle bus was taking passengers headed eastbound between Islington and Keele stations as the fire investigation continued.
