Red tape leaves 400 students ‘homeless’

BACOLOD CITY: As students nationwide are happy to be back in school today, about 400 students in Tinongan National High School (TNHS) in the municipality of Isabel, Negros Occidental, will remain “homeless” and remain “squatters” because of government red tape. After the revision of the foundation, revised program of work, plans and structural analysis were submitted to the Department of Education, Pasig City, Metro Manila last November 2017.”“How long will the students wait? Another 33 years to have a campus of their own instead of remaining as squatters in Tinongan Elementary School? One of the two school buildings for the campus will cost P34,668,987.87 and the other, P3,250, 583.76. Montilla said he “does not want to put malice much less politics” in the delayed implementation of the project.
