Red meat sellers in Dhaka have threatened to go on strike from first Ramadan protesting the irregularities like extortion and unsanctioned taxes in the cattle markets. General Secretary of Bangladesh meat sellers’ association Rabiul Alam confirmed it to the Dhaka Tribune on Sunday. “We will enforce the strike if our demands are not meet within next 15 days,” he said. Earlier in the morning, they made the announcement from a press conference at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity. The meat sellers went on the strike from February 13 Monday till February 18 to press home to meet their same demands.
