more-inThe second district and sessions court has convicted a rape accused to seven years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of ₹ 5000 on him. The judge B.S. Rekha pronounced the judgment against accused Shivakumar (31) in the case that took place in 2014. A resident of Virupakshi in Mulbagal taluk, Shivakumar kidnapped a minor girl from Mulbagal on January 26, 2014 and sexually assaulted her after taking her to Madhugiri near Devanahalli. The Mulbagal police had registered a case under POCSO following a complaint by the parents of the victim.
