New Delhi, Aug 11 (PTI) Eminent economists and thought leaders came together to discuss the many issues facing India at 70 and the initiatives needed in economic and governance policies to address them in the short and the long term. The platform Thinkers Sandbox, created by Penguin Random House India and Thinkers, saw names likes Gurcharan Das, Rakesh Mohan, Bimal Jalan, Sanjeev Sanyal, Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, Arun Kumar and Amit Kapoor from the field of economics and governance. The speakers, who are also authors published by Penguin Random House India, discussed ideas that form the basis for their seminal works of literature, a selection of which was also presented to the delegates as an economics and governance boxset. Amit Kapoor, Editor-in-Chief of Thinkers, says, "India is fortunate to have a ubiquity of talented minds in every field of the society that have made incomparable contributions in shaping the country as we know it today. Thinkers is all about recognising such individuals and their ideas."
