THE country has seen a decline in daily Covid-19 cases in the past few weeks despite the continued relaxation of pandemic rules and an increase in public mobility. It was the first time the country recorded less than 1,000 daily cases since mid-January. During the third wave fuelled by the highly contagious Omicron variant, daily cases climbed from mere hundreds in mid-January to a peak of over 63,000 cases by Feb 17. This has led to a significant increase in public mobility, with people beginning to crowd shopping centres, restaurants and places of worship. National Covid-19 task force spokesperson Wiku Adi Sasmito said that as of March 30, public mobility had reached the highest level since the pandemic started.
