Southlanders can expect yo-yoing weather in the coming days and those making the most of alert level 2 are urged to check weather warnings first. A heavy rain warning is in place for Fiordland from Wednesday night until Friday morning, with 150 to 180mm expected. The NZ Transport Agency is planning to close the Milford Rd at 4.30pm on Wednesday because of snow. Dropping temperatures would likely bring other warnings in the coming days, Little said. He urged anyone making use of alert level 2 and travelling around, to check the forecasts and warnings.
