Speaking in Mombasa, Raila said Jubilee is trying to break the giant teachers’ union and curtail its influence so it can continue to oppress them. Cord leader Raila Odinga and his brigade have warned teachers not to allow Jubilee to interfere with their union, Knut. Raila and Deputy President William Ruto wooed teachers on Saturday as they fight for the more than 250,000 teachers’ vote bloc. He was hosted by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho in the Mombasa ASK Showground, where the governor issued bursaries worth Sh105 million to 14,000 students. Knut has more than 206,000 members, while Kuppet has more than 35,000.
