RBWM refusing mobile homes by caravan site was ‘not well founded’, inspector rules

Mobile homes can be set up on land beside a caravan park in Old Windsor after an inspector found the council’s refusal of permission was ‘not well founded’. Mr Sines’ subsequent bid claimed that the existing permissions showed the land was already part of a caravan site and could be used for the four more mobile homes. “It therefore follows that the siting of mobile homes for human habitation is lawful,” planning documents from a consultancy company on behalf of Mr Sines said. Royal Borough council planning officers refused permission and disagreed that the 2024 permissions were sufficient. Planning Inspector Peter Willows ruled in favour of the appellant and said the site was ‘quite plainly’ part of the existing caravan site and could be used for more mobile homes.
