The suspect, Zahid Hasan alias Zaid Al Ansar, 25, was arrested at his home in Rangpur city's Kenranipara on Thursday, RAB-13 Rangpur Commander ATM Atikullah said at a media briefing. Zahid was later nominated as the commander of the group's northern region unit, the RAB official said, referring to initial interrogation of the suspect. The RAB official said the militants were planning new attacks. After organisational activities in northern districts for a long time, Zahid returned home Wednesday night, Atikullah said. The RAB did not reveal details of the other members of ABT's northern region unit.
