President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the entire Luzon on an “enhanced community quarantine” as the government ratcheted up its response to the coronavirus disease 2019 or Covid-19. Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo on Monday said a new memorandum issued defines enhanced community quarantine as “strict home quarantine” in all households and the suspension of transportation. The government then placed Metro Manila on community quarantine until April 14. Monday was the first work day the community quarantine went into effect.
