Two women visiting an inmate were caught with methamphetamine by guards at the Whanganui Prison. (FILE PIC)Two Taranaki women have faced drug charges after arriving at Whanganui Prison to visit an inmate while in possession of methamphetamine. When the women arrived at the prison around 10am, they were stopped by guards who were operating a checkpoint at the entrance to the car park. As Savage left the courtroom at the end of her hearing on Thursday, the woman gave Savage a smile and a double thumbs up. The woman was remanded without plea to return next month to hear whether the charges would be dropped.
