The United States is planning to nominate deputy White House chief of staff Christopher Liddell to become the next secretary general of the OECD, according to Reuters. "The US is committed to a strong and unified OECD, and intends to nominate Christopher P. Liddell to be the next Secretary General of the OECD," a senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters. Angel Gurría is currently serving as the secretary general of the OECD, now in his third five-year mandate, having been appointed in June 2006.
