Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on the hunt for new press secretaryHAGEN HOPKINS/GETTY IMAGES Chief press secretary Mike Jaspers, pictured with Ardern, will work until his replacement is found. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is looking for a new chief press secretary after just five months in office. Current chief press secretary Mike Jaspers is moving sideways into a more back room role as a chief strategic advisor. It's understood Jaspers himself asked for the move and was not keen to commit to a full three years in the chief press secretary role, which can often involve very erratic hours. The Prime Minister's Office currently employs four press secretaries: Jaspers, Joy Gribben, Leah Haines, and Julie Jacobsen.
