President William Ruto has introduced new changes in government in his efforts to control excessive government wage bill. It has emerged that the president has introduced a Unified Payroll Number (UPN) for all government officers. This is to consolidate the government payroll system and enhance transparency and accountability in all government agencies. President Ruto has remained firm and clear that his government will ensure that only those who were employed thought the right processes will be paid. President Ruto is keen to ensure that government payroll system is clean in his efforts to eradicate ghost workers who have focused on shortcuts.
