Powerhouse director Bryant goes before meeting to oust himJOHN KIRK ANDERSON/FAIRFAX NZ Stephen Hampson, chief executive officer of Powerhouse. Christchurch-based Powerhouse Ventures has cancelled a special meeting due for July 31 to vote out director and former chairman Blair Bryant. Christchurch City Council's economic development arm Canterbury Development Corporation said it would use its voting power to remove Bryant. The special shareholder meeting was called because directors can only be forced out by shareholders. Powerhouse invests in other technology startups including many founded in Christchurch such as CropLogic and HydroWorks.
