Container throughput shows stabilityContainer throughput at the port remained relatively stable, with 5.8m TEU handled between January and September 2024, representing a marginal year-on-year decline of 0.4%. Loaded container throughput showed slight growth, rising by 0.2% to 5.1m TEU, while empty container volumes dropped by 4.6% to 722,000 TEU. The general cargo segment provided a bright spot, with conventional general cargo throughput increasing by 3.7% to 904,000 tonnes. Total seaborne cargo throughput declined by 3.0% to 84.0mt in the first nine months of 2024.
