Walter Ostanek, the award-winning musician known as Canada’s polka king, has won $1 million in a London, Ont. The 81-year-old St. Catharines musician has earned three Grammy awards and is known for accordion hits such as Beer Barrel Polka, Smile Awhile Polka and Oktoberfest Polka. Ostanek’s grand prize-winning ticket entitled him to take possession of a new home or $1 million. He can now add jackpot winner to his list of achievements.
