Capitol Police are taking steps to scale back perimeter fencing around the Capitol grounds in the next two weeks amid public criticism of the continuing fortifications after the Jan. 6th MAGA riot. The mob of thousands had little trouble pushing back such moveable barriers on Jan. 6th, but since that time Capitol security officials have acknowledged they were not prepared for the mass event that took place. A Democratic aide told the New York Times Capitol Police would bring an inner perimeter closer to the Capitol building. Lt. Gen. Russel Honore, who headed a security review for Pelosi, said the fencing 'will do nothing to prevent another attack. The FBI is still searching for the suspect who planted pipe bombs at two locations near the Capitol the day of the Jan. 6th riot.
