Mr. Meena has also asked the District Collector to conduct an inquiry and initiate action against the polling officials responsible for breach of official duty. According to the Collector’s report, Shyamkumar had cast votes at 6.20 p.m. and 7.26 p.m. at booth no: 48. On April 27, the CEO had asked a report from the collector following media disclosures about bogus voting. The collector had taken the statements of the polling officers, the assistant returning officer and the sectoral officer. The booth level officer and the sectoral officer had identified Shyamkumar from video footage, the CEO’s office said.
