GEORGE TOWN: A pair of siblings was arrested for allegedly running an illegal synthetic drug lab in Bukit Mertajam here. "We found a bunch of keys attached to a remote control and an electric bill on her, which led us to another house located some 500m away where ecstasy pills and synthetic medicines were being manufactured. "We discovered 7,135 ecstasy pills, 2.13kg of ecstasy powder and 1.3kg of caffeine powder, with a market value of about RM769,250," he told a press conference at the state police headquarters in Penang Road on Monday. DCP Roslee said the police also found several types of synthetic medicines for flu and other treatments, and four machines used for packaging tablets. "Both of them are being remanded for seven days until Thursday pending investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said.
