Poison pen letters target civil servants due for promotion


KUANTAN: Envy among civil servants attribute to 90 percent of poison pen letters received by the State Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. Most of such letters were targetted at tarnishing those who were due for promotions within state government agencies and departments. State MACC deputy operations chief Ab Munien Ibrahim warned action will be taken against those who write such letters. Munien said this during the Corruption Free Pledge involving senior leaders and members of of the Pahang Farmers Organisation (Pasfa). The MACC will go to the extent of visiting offices of those linked to the letters in their probe as each complaint will be taken seriosly, he said.
