Exports of the computers/electronics/components group which often came in third in the past few years have leapfrogged the apparel sector, becoming the country’s second biggest export earner. According to the customs, the group’s exports generated a staggering US$10.9 billion in revenue in the first five months, up 14.2% year-on-year. However, this group was mainly dominated by foreign direct investment enterprises such as Samsung.
