The Ban Rak Thai mountaintop, which is just 50 kilometres from Phitsanulok's downtown, saw its temperature drop to 20 degrees Celsius. Local villagers said all homestay services at the village of Tambon Chomphu in None Maprang district were booked while nearly all resort rooms were occupied. Pol Sergeant Anant Preepradit from the village station said police are prepared to ensure the safety of the large number of tourists expected throughout the winter season. He advised tourists to use lower gears when driving up and down the mountain. Anant said several resorts are already fully booked from now through the New Year’s holidays.
