ROYAL Philips recently announced its initiative to quickly scale production of its new Philips Respironics E30 ventilator as a readily available ventilation alternative in situations where full-featured, critical care ventilators are unavailable. To treat more patients by making the E30 available with a shorter lead time, Philips will produce 15,000 units per week that will be available in the Philippines soon. Designed for mass production by a team deeply experienced in respiratory care, the compact and cost effective E30 ventilator features include the ability to use the device both invasively and noninvasively. Designed for safety, its recommended circuit setups contain a bacterial or viral filter to minimize the exposure of healthcare providers when used invasively or noninvasively along with sample accessories such as a full-face, unvented mask. It also has visual and audible alarms to provide pertinent therapy information to healthcare providers.
