A petition seeking the removal of IEBC commissioners has been filed in Parliament. Governance expert Barasa Nyukuri filed the petition on Thursday in the National Assembly and the Senate. Nyukuri has identified two grounds for the removal of the nine commissioners from office. He said the commissioners have been engaging in the procurement of election material, which is a preserve of the secretariat. The commission's functions include conducting and supervising elections and referendum, voter registration, delimitation of the electoral areas and settling voter disputes.
