Emergency services are attending a water incident in WhakatāneA person is dead after a water-related incident in Whakatāne. A person was pulled from the water at The Heads just after 2pm in a critical condition, a police statement said. The person received medical treatment but died at the scene. A St John spokeswoman said that two ambulances and a helicopter attended the incident at The Heads on Muriwai Drive. They were called at 2.06pm and treated one person.
