Perak police raids drug party group advertising activities through social media

State police chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan said the detainees, who included 13 women, were among the 225 people who were screened following a tip-off for drug consumption at a private party at the hotel. He said the raiding team also seized eight pills believed to be ecstacy and 33.5gramme of a substance believed to be canabbis. "Investigation revealed that the organisers had previously advertised such parties through Whatsapp, Wechat and Instagram where party-goers would purchase tickets priced at RM58 for early birds and RM78 for walk-ins. "It is learnt that the organisers have hosted similar parties in Ipoh, Penang and Kuala Lumpur, normally in rented apartments or bungalows," he said in a statement today. Investigations were being carried out under Section 15(1)(a), Section 12(2) and 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
