Speaker Trevor Mallard says a member of the Parliamentary Service staff has today been stood down, following an historic allegation of assault. A female staffer reported a historical allegation of rape by a colleague to Parliament bosses last year. Parliamentary Service have confirmed an allegation of assault was made at the time, but said the original investigation was not into allegations of rape.
