Denise Beerkens is on the jubilee committee for the Rakauhauka Catholic Church's 125th celebrations. Two days of celebrations will mark the milestone of the Rakauhauka Catholic Church on November 23 and 24, jubilee committee secretary Denise Beerkens​ said. Without hesitation, Beerkens said voluntary labour and working bees have kept the well-appointed church operating near Invercargill. Beerkens said there had been some talk about churches amalgamating but the consensus among Rakauhauka parishioners was for them to continue operating independently.
