Panel takes case against schoolteacher

The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken a case against a schoolteacher for not allowing a student appearing for the SSLC examinations to go to toilet. The commission had earlier directed that drinking water and toilet facilities under the supervision of invigilators be arranged for students appearing for examinations. The commission found that the teacher’s attitude caused mental anguish to the student and prevented the student from appearing for the examination comfortably. CircularMeanwhile, the Pareeksha Bhavan has issued a circular that chief superintendents make arrangements for students appearing for the SSLC examinations to go to toilet if they seek permission. They should ensure that all arrangements are in place so that students can sit for the examinations without any cause for mental agony.
