Palmerston North play director builds up show for Wellington stagesSupplied Alex Lodge, Isadora Lao, Amy Tarleton, Maria Williams and Renee Sheridan in the play Modern Girls in Bed. A new play has just started its run on the main stage of Circa Theatre in Wellington and the seven-strong female cast are directed by Palmerston North's Rachel Lenart. Modern Girls in Bed was written by Cherie Jacobson and Alex Lodge and is a comedy exploring what happens when two teenagers come face-to-face with five trailblazing women from New Zealand's history. Lenart said she felt honoured to have directed a play with such strong female representation, "especially during the 125th anniversary of women's suffrage in New Zealand". Modern Girls in Bed by Cherie Jacobson and Alex Lodge, directed by Rachel Lenart is at Wellington's Circa Theatre until September 22.
