Residents of a New Plymouth suburb have banded together to try and stop public car parks from being turned into a freedom camping zone. As part of a review of its freedom camping bylaw the New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) has proposed making 11 parks at the Fitzroy Shopping Centre available to non-self-contained campers. "Don't think these freedom campers are going to buy anything."
