Machindra Chavan, Assistant Commissioner of Police, GRP, said, "We are probing if the girl was pushed to end her life. At 10.30 pm, after repeated attempts to reach Pallavi were futile, her family members registered a missing persons complaint at MRA marg police station. "We checked the CCTV camera footage of the CSMT railway station and found Pallavi speaking on the cellphone while boarding a local train. In the CCTV footage, Pallavi is also seen speaking to someone at CSMT railway station before entering a slow train. When DNA spoke to Pallavi's family members at their residence in Kalpataru Habitat building at Parel, they did not wish to comment.
