Addressing the disappearance of foreign service parole officers, FM Qureshi said that for the first time, Pakistan had reoriented the push of its diplomatic efforts towards the economic benefit and prosperity of the masses. “Economic diplomacy is not just a buzzword, but a plan to harness our diplomatic assets in the service of our development agenda,” he said. “We have launched a ‘Strategic Commitment Plan’ with the European Union and a ‘Strategic Economic Framework’ with Turkey.”The foreign minister added that in order to explore untapped markets and opportunities, the government had also launched the ‘Engage Africa’ initiative. “From now on, our pivot towards economic diplomacy will gain more momentum as new avenues are opened and existing ones have more traction,” he added. The Foreign Minister advised the people on parole to strive to serve Pakistan and its people to the fullest extent possible as their main goal throughout their professional career.
