File photo of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Focus BanglaThe nearly 400m bridge will reduce bottlenecks on Dhaka-Chittagong highwayPrime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the second Kanchpur Bridge across Shitalakkhya River to reduce traffic congestion on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. Also through videoconference, Sheikh Hasina inaugurated a four-lane flyover at Bhulta and a railway overpass at Latifpur on Dhaka-Sylhet highway. The four-lane Kanchpur Bridge is 397.3m long and 18.1m wide, at a construction cost Tk950 crore. The construction work of second Kanchpur Bridge was completed nearly four months ahead of the June 2019 deadline. Meanwhile, inauguration of the newly-constructed 456.37m long Latifpur flyover is expected to help decrease traffic gridlocks at Latifpur on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.
