But the problem lies mostly with the people who are unaware of the risks of misuse of antibiotics, according to doctors. Patients are advised to take antibiotics only when needed and prescribed for bacterial infections and to follow the doctor’s advice. Panaligan said the public should do away with the hesitance in consulting doctors to further prevent the contraction and spread of AMR.
