Share TweetBy Noreen JazulPhilippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez said he had a “very good discussion” with two US senators who are seeking for the release of detained Senator Leila de Lima. Romualdez, in a video message released by the Philippine Embassy in Washington, said he met with US Senators Dick Durbin and Ed Markey “upon request” at Capitol Hill. “We will continue to interact with many of the senators concerned, especially Senator Durbin,” Romualdez said. Durbin and Markey, along with senators Marco Rubio, Chris Coons, and Marsha Blackburn filed a resolution condemning De Lima’s detention.
