LEGAZPI CITY –– Army troops overran an alleged camp of the New People’s Army, following an encounter in Del Gallego town in Camarines Sur province on Tuesday. Major Ricky Aguilar, public affairs chief of the Philippine Army’s First Infantry Division, said a platoon of Scout Rangers had a 30-minute firefight with about 20 suspected NPA rebels on the outskirts of Del Gallego near the boundaries of Ragay and Lupi towns around 2 p.m.ADVERTISEMENTThe rebels, led by a certain Ka Rudy of Guerrilla Front Larangan 2 operating in the province, fled after sensing that the Army rangers overpowered them.
