P8.7M drugs seized from businessman in TaguigBy The Manila TimesPOLICE swooped down on Wednesday morning on a hotel in Taguig City where they arrested a businessman who had in his possession illegal drugs worth P8.7 million. Domingo Uy Jr., 44, was arrested at 1 a.m. inside a room in Shangri-La at the Fort, Bonifacio Global City. Col. Alexander Santos, Taguig police chief, said the arrest was made after police and elements from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) responded to a call from hotel security. Seized inside Uy’s unit were six packs of ecstasy estimated to be worth P6,864,600; 22 packs of high-grade cocaine worth P1,855,000; 103 grams of molly worth P51,500; and bundles of cash worth P720,346. Uy has been taken to the Taguig City Police Station where he awaits charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
