COTABATO CITY — Police arrested two men for possession of a gun and illegal drugs at a checkpoint implementing the election gun ban in Kabacan, North Cotabato province on Tuesday, May 21, police said Wednesday. ADVERTISEMENTWhen accosted, Solaiman yielded a caliber .45 pistol with 10 bullets but could not present the necessary documents. His companion, Tato Salamat, 19, was also arrested for possession of two sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth). Mamon said the suspects were on board a motorcycle driven by Salamat heading to the town center. The suspects, now detained at the Kabacan police detention cell, will be charged for violations of the election gun ban, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and illegal possession of prohibited drugs.
