Owner denied SPCA access to starving dogSPCA Tihei the Rottweiler-Huntaway cross was emaciated and in so much pain that she could barely stand. The dog was in such poor condition that when SPCA inspectors were eventually allowed access to it, they had no choice but to euthanise the beleagured animal. She also has to pay $767.90 in reparation to the SPCA and has been banned from owning a dog for three years. When they arrived at the property, Tawha denied there was a dog on the premises and refused to unlock the gate to the back garden. When the SPCA inspector said she would be taking possession of Tihei, Tawha said "just take the ... dog, I don't want it anyway".
